PoolThis! Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Who we are
PoolThis! is operated by PoolThis AB, org.nr 559580-1720, VAT no. SE559580172001, Forskarbacken 2, 114 16 Stockholm, Sweden. Email: info@poolthis.com.
These terms govern your use of the PoolThis! app at app.poolthis.com and the PoolThis! Android app. How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What the service does
PoolThis! lets a group place a shared grocery order in time-limited ordering cycles. You browse a shared product catalogue, add items to your basket, and place an order before the cycle's cutoff time. At the cutoff the cycle locks automatically, we email you what you owe, and you pay through Stripe. The group's admin then places one combined bulk order, and the goods are collected from a shared pickup point.
Our role: we are the seller. When you place an order through PoolThis!, you are buying the goods from PoolThis AB. We source them from a third-party retailer and arrange for them to reach the pickup point, but the sales contract for the groceries is between you and us, and you pay us. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the right to complain about faulty, missing or wrong goods under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen), apply against us — not against your group's admin or the retailer.
The group's admin sets the catalogue and the pickup arrangements and places the combined order on our platform. They do so as part of running the pool, not as your counterparty.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and place orders.
- You need an account — email and password, or Google Sign-In — to order.
- Keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for orders placed from your account.
- The service is currently invite-only. We decide who can register while the app is in its early phase, and access may be withdrawn.
4. Cycles, prices and changing your order
- Products and prices are set by the group's admin. The price that applies to your order is the price at the moment you place it — later catalogue changes do not alter an order you already placed.
- You can change or re-place your order as often as you like until the cycle's cutoff time. Re-placing replaces your previous order; it does not add a second one.
- At the cutoff, the cycle locks automatically. After that your order is final and cannot be changed or cancelled in the app.
- Prices are shown in SEK and include VAT where applicable.
5. Fees
One fee is added to your item total: your share of the delivery fee. The cycle's delivery fee is split evenly between all participants, not in proportion to basket size. Before the cycle locks this is an estimate, because it depends on how many people end up participating. It is fixed at the moment the cycle locks.
We charge no separate service or booking fee.
6. Payment, and what happens if you do not pay
- When the cycle locks, we email you an itemised summary and a payment link.
- Payment is handled on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card details.
- Only paid orders are included in the bulk order. If your payment has not gone through when the admin places the combined order, your items are left out and you will not receive them.
- Your order is treated as paid once Stripe confirms a settled payment for at least the order total.
7. Pickup and availability
The admin sets a pickup date, pickup time slots and the shared pickup location for each cycle, and these are shown in the app. Collecting your items at the stated time and place is your responsibility, and risk in the goods passes to you when you collect them. We are not able to store or re-deliver uncollected items.
If an item you ordered turns out to be unavailable at the retailer, we will not charge you for it — or, if you have already paid, we refund that item. We do not substitute items for different ones without asking you.
8. Right of withdrawal
Under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen 2005:59), which implements EU Directive 2011/83/EU, there is no 14-day right of withdrawal for:
- food, beverages and other goods intended for everyday household consumption supplied on a regular delivery round, and
- goods that spoil or age quickly.
Most of what is ordered through PoolThis! falls into these categories, so you cannot cancel a placed order once a cycle has locked. For any item that is not exempt, contact us within 14 days of receiving it and we will handle the withdrawal. By placing an order and paying, you also ask us to begin buying and collecting the goods immediately, and you acknowledge that your share of the delivery fee is owed once the cycle is locked and the bulk order has been placed.
9. Faulty, missing or wrong goods
Because we are the seller, the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen) applies to what you buy here. In short:
- You can complain about a fault for up to three years after you received the goods, provided you tell us within a reasonable time of discovering it. Always within two months of discovery counts as reasonable.
- For the first two years, a fault that appears is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
- Where an item is faulty, missing or not what you ordered, you are entitled to a replacement, a price reduction or your money back, on the terms set out in that Act.
Report problems to info@poolthis.com — not to the group's admin — as soon as you reasonably can, ideally with a photo. Refunds are paid through Stripe to the payment method you used. Perishable goods have a short natural life, so report anything wrong with fresh items on the day you collect them.
If we cannot agree, you may bring the matter to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm), whose decisions we follow, or to a Swedish general court. Consumers resident in another EU country can also contact their European Consumer Centre.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to place fraudulent orders, interfere with other users' orders, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
11. Your account and your data
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account — see the Privacy Policy for how, and for the records we must keep for bookkeeping. We may suspend or remove access to an account for suspected misuse, abuse, non-payment, or when the invite-only phase ends.
12. Early-phase service level
The app is in an early, invite-only phase. It is provided as is: it may be unavailable, change without notice, or lose non-essential data. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Swedish law, and nothing limits your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Third-party services
Sign-in and payment involve Google and Stripe respectively. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and we will notify registered users by email of changes that materially affect an order they have already placed.
15. Governing law
Swedish law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another EU/EEA country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence.
